Property insurance is the coverage without which most enterprises simply could not open their doors for business. There are five elements to the standard Commercial Property Coverage:
Declarations:
The declarations page of the policy contains the following information: (a) description of the property to be insured, (b) kinds and amounts of coverage, (c) list of mortgages if any, (d) deductible amount, and (e) property coverage forms.

Commercial Property Coverage Forms:
These forms consist of an insuring agreement, describing property covered and not covered and setting forth additional coverage and coverage extensions.

Commercial Property Conditions:
This form contains conditions that apply to all commercial property coverage forms, unless a coverage form contains a condition to the contrary.

Causes of Loss Forms:
These forms specify the perils covered by the contract. The three forms available are: basic, broad, and special.

Endorsements:
These forms are used to tailor a contract to meet the specialized needs of a particular insured.
